Awards & Acknowledgements; Recycled Water; Alternative Project Delivery
The West Bay Sanitary District provides wastewater collection and conveyance services to the City of Menlo Park, Atherton, and Portola Valley, and areas of East Palo Alto, Woodside and unincorporated San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. Water Works Engineers was hired as part of a Design Build team to design the district’s first Recycled Water Facility, in a public-private partership with the Sharon Heights Golf and Country Club. The facility produces 0.5MGD of Title 22 compliant recycled water for irrigation of the golf course as well as filling water water trucks for construction water and street sweepers for freeway cleaning by Caltrans.
This project was awarded the 2019 Golden Acorn award for Environmental Stewardship by the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce. This award recognize creative, responsible use and protection of the natural environment through conversion and sustainable practices.
